Binx and the Haunted Ribbon

Since Binx had no history of eating things that he shouldn’t, his family was surprised when X-rays revealed a suspicious object in his stomach. Surgery confirmed the culprit: a tangled ball of ribbon! Fortunately, the ribbon had not stretched into what veterinarians call a linear foreign body- where string-like material threads through the intestines, causing them to bunch up like an accordion. That condition can quickly become life-threatening . Binx was lucky his ribbon stayed balled up in the stomach, making removal safer and more straightforward.

Meet Binx, a curious 4-year-old black cat, who recently gave his family quite a scare. One Wednesday, Binx began vomiting shortly after meals, even though he was still bright, energetic, and interested in food and water.

After surgery, Binx recovered beautifully and is now back home with his family, reminding us all that sometimes curiosity really can get the cat!
