Dental Care

Dental care is one of the most important aspects of your pet’s life. When left untreated, dental disease can cause serious damage to the liver and kidneys. During routine physical examinations, our veterinarians will evaluate your pet’s mouth and help with suggestions on how you can assure your pet is getting the proper dental care he or she needs.

Veterinary dentistry includes the examination, cleaning, adjustment, filing, extraction, and repair of your pet’s teeth. At Silver Maple, we offer:

  • Oral/dental exams
  • Dental radiography
  • Dental cleanings, polishing, and fluoride treatments
  • Extractions
  • Special pricing during National Pet Dental Month

Often times upon examination, our veterinarian may find that your pet is in need of a dental cleaning or even some teeth extractions. We understand sometimes these procedures can become costly, so we hold Dental Months regularly at the clinic, with discounts off dental cleanings and dental products.

Though you should have your pet’s dental health checked yearly, have your pet’s teeth examined sooner if you observe any of the following problems:

  • Bad breath
  • Broken or loose teeth
  • Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
  • Discolored or tartar-covered teeth
  • Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food from the mouth
  • Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
  • Pain in or around the mouth
  • Bleeding from the mouth
  • Swelling around the mouth

Our sterile dental suite is equipped to handle everything from routine dental cleanings to dental extractions. We are also excited to be able to offer our patients dental radiographs along with cleanings. Dental radiographs give our veterinarians a more accurate picture as to if a tooth needs to be extracted or not.
