Dr. Annemarie Yoder

Dr. Annemarie Yoder, owner and veterinarian, is the medical director at Silver Maple. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. degree in animal science. She then graduated from the State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1987, and became a certified veterinary acupuncturist in 1989. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, geriatric medicine and blending Eastern and Western medicine to prolong the life of our patients. When not working at the clinic, Dr. Yoder enjoys farming and gardening on her 88-acre farm, baking, and cross-country skiing. Fun Fact: Once Dr. Yoder stopped the horse practice of Silver Maple, she starting taking riding lessons, and now successfully shows her Haflinger horse, Winterschein, in training level dressage.

Dr. Samuel Yoder

Dr. Samuel Yoder, owner and veterinarian, grew up in Kutztown and graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1982 with highest honors, earning a B.S. in biology and chemistry. Dr. Yoder continued his education by attending veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. After his long, prestigious academic career, he chose veterinary medicine in the private sector by founding Silver Maple Veterinary Clinic with his wife, Dr. Annemarie Yoder. His professional interests include small animal endoscopy, orthopedic surgery, and any challenging case sent his way. Fun Fact: When not practicing, Dr. Yoder continues his goal of sustainability with Green Alchemy, an organization promoting renewable energy and sustainable living. 

Dr. Mary Coughlin

Dr. Mary Coughlin, veterinarian, is a graduate of DeSales University and received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. She has a special interest and further training in veterinary surgery, along with ultrasonography, and brings services like reconstructive knee surgery, tumor removals, and ear and eye surgeries to Silver Maple. In her downtime, she loves spending time with her husband, Brian, two children, and her dogs Sugar and Maggie. Fun Fact: Dr. Coughlin loves competing with her horse, Armani.

Dr. Sara Pomanti

Dr. Sara Pomanti, veterinarian, is a graduate of Juniata College and spent a semester abroad studying in the Galapagos Islands. Dr. Pomanti received her Bachelors Degree in Biology in 2012.  After spending a year working in a small animal clinic, she attended Ross University in the Caribbean nation of Sr. Kitts and Nevis.  Dr. Pomanti then completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University.  She is happy to be back in the northeast US near family and friends.  She enjoys traveling, hiking, and working on her family farm in Elk County.  Dr. Pomanti is passionate about animals and interested in the preservation of species.  We are excited to have Dr. Pomanti as a part of the Silver Maple team! 

Dr. Kerri Recipko

Dr. Kerri Recipko, veterinarian, is a graduate of  Delaware Valley University and received her veterinary degree from University of Minnesota in 2017. While in her clinical year of vet school at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Recipko reached out to us to see about completing her 2 week externship at Silver Maple Veterinary Clinic.  After completion of her stay, we knew she would be a great addition to our always growing team.   Dr. Recpiko enjoys preventative medicine because it’s all about client education and developing a plan that it tailored to the pet’s life style.   She also enjoys internal medicine and the complexity that it can bring to the profession. As far as technicality goes, she enjoys soft tissue surgery as well as dentistry. Overall Dr. Recpiko looks forward to meeting people and being able to help keep their furry friends happy and healthy. Besides practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Recipko enjoys being outside, spending time with family, including her four legged feline family member, and shopping.

Teng Gater, DVM

Dr. Teng Gater, veterinarian, is a graduate of Mansfield University, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Biology in 2018. She spent about two years working in a small animal clinic before attending University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine. During her time in Arizona she volunteered surgical time at a local shelter. Since then she’s been passionate about soft tissue surgery and hopes to get into orthopedic surgery. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, James and her dog, Rosco, and her cat, Gremlin. She’s excited to be back in Pennsylvania and explore her surroundings on the weekends.

Jaime Vanek

Jaime Vanek, practice manager, has been with SMVC for more than 17 years. While pursuing her degree in early childhood education, she began working at SMVC part-time and basically never left! She eventually started doing some human resources work, and then worked her way up to practice manager. SMVC is her second home and her second family. She loved growing up in Kutztown and being part of a such a great community, and so she is thrilled to be able to work for a practice that provides high quality veterinary care to the community. She is still living in Kutztown with her husband and three beautiful kids. She currently has three dogs and a cat and a half! Fun Fact: Jaime is so fun that she can’t pick just one fun fact!
